Giving children and young people opportunities to use the Welsh language during various practical and fun events, projects and activities.

Hirddydd Haf

In collaboration with the Education Department, Gŵyl Hirddydd Haf is an event for Year 5 pupils of the County's Welsh Medium Schools. The day filled with music, creativity and fun is held at the Urdd Centre, Pentre Ifan. At the 2025 Festival, the children were entertained by a lively performance by Mei Gwynedd and the Dewin band, as well as being part of the re-recording of the local song 'Hela'r Twrch Trwyth'. A variety of inspiring workshops were held throughout the day, creating a lively and memorable festival that celebrates the Welsh language in a creative atmosphere for the county's schools.

Olympiaith

In partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council's Education Department, we held a fun and competitive festival that brings schools from all over the county together to celebrate the Welsh language through games, challenges and light learning activities. Olympiaith's aim is to foster a love of the Welsh language in a friendly, supportive and inspiring atmosphere, giving the county's Year 4 children the opportunity to enjoy the language in a natural, positive and fun way.

Silent Disco (Disgo Distaw)

We are also proud of our continued use of our equipment for Silent Disco, which is a very popular part of our offer to schools and community groups. We often hold sessions, and these activities offer a fun and accessible way of introducing Welsh songs to children and adults across the county. By combining music, movement and fun informal learning, Silent Discos create a lively experience that fosters linguistic confidence and encourages young people to engage with the Welsh language in a positive and natural manner.

Prosiect Glas for Junior Schools

Has there ever been a name as rich as blue/blues? It can simply refer to the colour of the surface of the sea or the sky on a clear, cloudless day. But what about Pembrokeshire bluestones and stones? Do they look blue to you? Although the name is the same, the meaning is quite different. Through this project, there will be an opportunity to explore the breadth of the word 'blue', through a range of activities that will surely stimulate creativity, celebrate heritage, and give a taste of the richness of the language. So, we go on a blue adventure to a place where the language is full of magic and the habitat enchants. The Glas project by Llinos Mair, will support the work of Menter Iaith Sir Benfro and celebrate the arrival of the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Y Garreg Las to the area, in August this year.

Prosiect Creu Sŵn

In collaboration with local secondary schools and Pembrokeshire College is the Creu Sŵn project, a creative initiative bringing young people together to explore music and creative expression through the Welsh language. Led by Mei Gwynedd, an artist, participants take part in inspiring workshops to co-write, develop and perform a new original song, building confidence and creative skills. The project culminates on Welsh Music Day with a special Battle of the Bands competition as part of the Noson Goffa Ail Symudiad, giving Pembrokeshire's young talent a platform to shine.

Cwis Dim Clem

Quis Dim Clem is a National Project. An informative and fun virtual quiz for Year 6 Welsh schools. The Menter holds Pembrokeshire local rounds with the winning school going on to challenge other schools within the western region of Mentrau Iaith Cymru. There is also a National Final taking place with six schools across Wales battling it out to be the champions of Quis Dim Clem Cymru.
