Volunteering

Make a difference within the community

Volunteering is a valuable way of supporting the community, building confidence and developing new skills, while making a real difference. We are still looking for new volunteers. By volunteering, you will have the opportunity to be part of fun activities, meet new people and support the natural use of the Welsh language in your community, whatever your language level.

On this page, you will also get to read short pieces from our volunteers, who share their personal experiences of volunteering with us and the positive impact it has had on their lives.

These are short comments from our volunteers, who share their personal experiences of volunteering with us and the positive impact it has had on them.

"Through volunteering with the Menter I have improved my communication skills not only through my mother tongue but at times, also through English. Having the opportunity to work together with staff and other volunteers in order to achieve the same common goal has been extremely valuable in preparing me for the professional workplace."

"Volunteering for the Menter has given me a number of experiences, challenges to organise successful events with resources and a small team, opportunities to socialize, work through and to speak and maintain the Welsh language."

"Since I started learning Welsh, I have received excellent support from the staff at Menter Iaith. Volunteering with them has given me valuable experiences and to understand more about Welsh culture. I have taken part in musical events and parades, and I believe that Menter Iaith plays a central role in the future of the Welsh language. It’s an honour to volunteer with Menter Iaith, and I encourage all learners to take part."
